Our Westbury depot recently secured work for one of their rotary tracked dumpers in connection with sea defence works at Hengistbury Head on the Dorset coast.
The photo shows the excavator driver carefully picking up the heavy armour (boulders) and loading them into the rotary dumper. The dumper then took them to another part of the work site.
The tracked dumper’s ability to change direction on the sea defences, without the need to slew around, was invaluable. Attempting a turn around on such a surface could have caused tracks to come off or become damaged.
